El Gaucho: An Argentinian Steakhouse Worth Visiting in Bangkok!
During my stay near Asok Station in Bangkok, I kept passing by this brightly lit restaurant that caught my eye every time—El Gaucho, an Argentinian steakhouse. The elegant staff dressed in black, the lively chatter from guests seated at outdoor tables—it all looked so inviting. So, naturally, curiosity got the best of me, and I finally decided to give it a try!
Aside from the Sukhumvit branch I visited, El Gaucho has five locations in Bangkok and even operates in Vietnam, the Philippines, and Slovakia. The prices are on the higher side compared to the cost of local dishes, but lucky for us, we visited during a time when their ALL-TIME FAVORITES menu was available, so we ordered from their Happy Hour selection!
🥩 El Gaucho: A Premium Steakhouse Experience
El Gaucho is a steakhouse specializing in Argentinian-style steaks, offering a luxurious yet lively dining experience. The interior is sleek and sophisticated, perfect for special occasions or indulgent meals.
While the prices might be a bit steep, the quality of the steak makes it worth every baht. You can also pair your steak with a variety of delicious side dishes and sauces to enhance the experience.
🌟 The ALL-TIME FAVORITES Menu
⏰ Available Time: 11 AM - 5 PM
This special daytime menu allows you to enjoy premium steaks at a more reasonable price. Each meal comes with:
Your choice of steak
A side dish: French fries, mashed potatoes, or salad
A sauce: Mushroom Sauce, Béarnaise Sauce, or Pepper Sauce
For our meal, we ordered: ✔️ Ribeye Steak ✔️ New York Striploin ✔️ Mashed Potatoes & Salad ✔️ Mushroom Sauce & Béarnaise Sauce
🥖 The Bread & Butter Experience
Before our steaks arrived, we were served baguette-style bread with butter, garlic, and olive oil. The best way to enjoy it? Crush the garlic and mix it with butter before spreading it on the bread—absolute perfection!🔥 Ribeye Steak: A Buttery, Flavorful Delight
The Ribeye steak is cut from the rib section (6th-12th rib) and is famous for its rich marbling and intense flavor. In Korea, it's called Kkotdeungsim (꽃등심), while the French refer to it as Entrecôte.Why choose ribeye? If you love a steak that's juicy, tender, and packed with beefy goodness, ribeye is your best bet!
The high marbling content keeps the meat buttery and moist, making every bite an explosion of flavor.
We ordered it medium, and it was cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Simply seasoning it with salt and pepper was enough to bring out its natural richness.
🥩 New York Striploin: The Perfect Balance of Lean & Fat
The New York Striploin comes from the short loin section of the cow. It’s a great option for those who enjoy a balance between tenderness and chewiness.
More tender than sirloin but leaner than ribeye
Offers a firm texture with a juicy bite
Perfect for those who like a steak with less fat but still full of flavor
Paired with the mushroom sauce, this steak was a savory delight. The mushroom sauce had a rich, umami taste that complemented the beef beautifully.
🍽️ Sides & Sauces: Elevating the Experience

✨ Mashed Potatoes & Béarnaise Sauce
The Béarnaise Sauce is a classic French butter emulsion sauce, made with:
Butter
Egg yolks
White wine vinegar
Shallots
Tarragon
Salt & Pepper
It has a creamy, buttery texture with a slight tang from the vinegar and herbs, making it an excellent match for steak.
✨ Salad & Mushroom Sauce
While the Béarnaise Sauce was great, I personally loved the mushroom sauce more. It was rich and flavorful without being too acidic, making it the perfect companion for a good steak.
But let’s be real—the steaks were so good on their own that just a sprinkle of salt and pepper was enough to make them shine!
🌆 Ambience: The Magic of Outdoor Dining
El Gaucho’s indoor space is elegant, but the outdoor seating steals the show—especially at night. As the sun sets and the warm lights turn on, the entire space glows, creating a romantic and vibrant atmosphere.Enjoying a perfectly grilled steak under the Bangkok night sky? That’s an experience you won’t forget.
🥃 A Sweet Ending: Caramel Vodka Shot
To wrap up our meal, we were served a complimentary caramel vodka shot—a sweet and smooth digestif to cleanse the palate. It was the perfect way to balance out the richness of the meal and leave on a high note.💭 Final Thoughts: Food is Memory!
Great food isn’t just about taste—it’s about creating memories. El Gaucho delivered not just an amazing steak dinner but also a wonderful dining experience. It’s a steakhouse you won’t find in Korea, making it a must-visit spot for any steak lover in Bangkok!
With every meal, another beautiful memory is added to my food journey. Can’t wait to see where my next bite takes me! 🍽️💖
